A.E.I vs Manor Park III04/11/2006 Manor Park 15 AEI 7 Ten minutes into the first half Manor Park went wide after a breakdown to go 5-0 up. AEI were next to break with a run from Erwann Maximus breaking the line to then slip to Jonathan Jenkins, out through the centres who just failed to pass out to new AEI winger Arturas Lutheran in the open. Ten minutes before full time AEI again looked dangerous when Erwann Mauxion scooped up a loose ball only to be bought down in front of the line. Despite driving low over the line a scrum was called and Manor Park were again let off the hook and allowed to kick up field. A loose hand gave Manor park the ideal penalty position and allowed 3 simple points. Their joy was only short-lived however as Jenkins and Mauxion combined again to put Erwann under the post which Richard Pinks converted leaving AEI just behind 7 – 8 at half time. Despite more soul destroying runs from the AEI backs and a good scrum performance the only second half try belonged to Manor park taking a quick tap penalty to give another 7 points with full time score 15 to 7. Jolly Abbott man of the match went to Arturas Lutheran Team Vice captain Mark Griffiths “AEI has seemed to slipped back to early season problems with slow starts giving the opposition time to get composed. We need to get our focus going earlier and I am sure we will return to winning ways." |
